Husband and wife team making it happen. Real deal here folks.. No cookie cutter everything is the same size stuff. This is like your momma (in this case, your dad) made it. Juices on your turnover bubbled out and your cookies big and yummy. They make baguettes, burger rolls, hot dog rolls, focaccia, prairie bread and lots of Danishes and turnovers. They are getting known which is good for them! Just get there early for your best selection.

I'm joining the rest of the folks. This place is a soon-to-be-discovered Gold Mine. Small joint, friendly people and clearly, obviously, beyond a shadow of a doubt, folks who are passionate about what they are doing. Can't tell you what's good because it's all good! Wonderful, really. Get there soon, because soon it will be one hell-ov-a "Got to go there" place. A Scratch equal. No, a bit better. The bread is truly tastier. Go!

First visit and I enjoyed both what experienced and tasted. Sort of a cross between the best of an old fashioned bakery done in a modern way. As you come through the door you can see they are still getting started. It has the same sort if bare bones feeling that Little Bigs did initially, everything centered around the baking. This is to be expected in a new business and the warm greeting by staff/owners(?) made me feel welcome. The size off the display cases makes it seem like they have fewer offerings than they actually do. The reality is that they have a greater range of rolls,breads, and pastries than most this side of the bridge. I picked up a chocolate chocolate chip cookie (for the Mrs.) and a blueberry turnover for myself. I admit that the cookie looked so inviting that I at it almost immediately. It was thick, moist and so delicious. Adult chocolatey rich not too sweet. I ate it so quickly I unfortunately only have a photo of the turnover, which for the record I did bring home, and the menu.

Walking into Mainly Grains you're immediately treated to a warm, cozy, yummy scent. The walls are stark, white and unadorned, but you won't even notice as your eyes will be drawn to the large, glowing display case full of delicious pastries and cookies. As great as their sweet treats are, Mainly Grains' specialty is their variety of fresh-baked breads. Their English Muffin bread, which seems to be their claim to fame, is just what you'd expect. It soaks up butter just like an English muffin but is also great for sandwiches. Though of all the breads I've tried, the Prairie Bread is by far my favorite. It's nutty and moist and has become a necessity for me. Also Wednesday is anadama day... While I wish it were available any day of the week, it's worth the wait and makes hump day something to be celebrated! Mainly Grains may be new to the neighborhood, but word is quickly spreading. It's worth seeing for yourself what the buzz is all about.

This place is fresh out of the oven! It opened less than a month ago, and they're still ramping up their offerings. When I went they had some cookies, three flavors of turnovers, cinnamon buns, and a bunch of breads. They're adding muffins and bagels to the list shortly. I left with a blueberry turnover, a raspberry turnover, and a cinnamon bun, and I'm very happy to say they were all delectable! The turnovers were flakey, but held together well, and the cinnamon bun was a flavor explosion of frostingy-cinnamon goodness. My favorite part about these baked goods is that they weren't TOO sweet. They were very flavorful, but not I wasn't sent into sugar shock from eating them. Mainly Grains has a promising future. It's a great location, and it has a private parking lot. I'll definitely be going back and updating my review when I have a broader experience to go off of.
